Sleep Treatment

Expert Help for Improving Your Sleep

We’ve all been there, tossing and turning, your brain won’t stop, and it feels like you’ll never be able to get enough sleep. Chronic insomnia is considered to be one of the most common sleep disorders, affecting 1 in 10 people. Our Houston-based sleep clinic treats insomnia and other sleep disturbances both in person and through telehealth in over 42 states.

Sleep Treatment Can Help You Sleep

You’ve tried lifestyle changes, changing your sleep environment, light therapy,  weight loss, sleep hygiene, and even sleeping pills. Nothing seems to help you get restful sleep or improve your sleep quality.

It’s been so long since you’ve gotten quality sleep. You wonder if you’ll ever sleep well again or if this just how you sleep. You are so tired of being tired, and all you want is a good night's sleep.

It feels like your sleep problems aren’t just affecting your nights, but you’re exhausted during the day and your overall health and focus are starting to suffer.

Your sleep issues aren’t just affecting you, they’re interfering with work and relationships. They’re impacting your bed partner and your overall health. Your sleep anxiety has taken over.

Our sleep specialists can help you sleep at any age, from infancy to older adults

The Right Sleep Treatment Provides Hope For Chronic Insomnia

Most of our clients find relief and improved sleep in about six sessions. We use proven CBT‑I methods, helping you:

  • You want to approach bedtime knowing that you’ll get some restful sleep
  • You just want to feel awake and focused again during the day and stay asleep all night
  • Ride out nighttime awakenings without panic or frustration
  • You dream of getting into bed, knowing you will actually fall asleep
  • You’d love to know what to do when you think you might have a bad night

If this sounds like you, we can help you get there.

Sleep Treatment at Rhythm Wellness Works

Sleep treatment through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia can help you get better sleep every night.

It’s the most widely recommended treatment for chronic insomnia, whether it’s happening on its own or it’s associated with another medical or mental health condition.

It gets to the root of what is keeping you up at night by:

Addressing the biological patterns that keep your brain stuck in “awake mode” at night.

Helping you learn how to address the thought patterns that keep you awake

Teaching you to track your sleep using a sleep diary and learn what to look out for

Learn relaxation techniques and good sleep habits to help set yourself up for success

Addressing other experiences or stressors (like trauma) that might be making sleep harder than it needs to be

CBT-I can help you get to sleep faster and sleep through the night more nights than not, for many clients within 6 sessions.

This is dependent upon your “out of network” benefits, and we will take the time to explain this to you well during our intake session.

Sleep Treatment FAQs

  • Many of our clients receive CBT-I, which is the gold standard for insomnia treatment by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

CBT-I includes using a sleep diary, sleep education, sleep restriction therapy (strategically adjusting your hours of bedtime), behavioral changes, processing underlying sleep anxiety, and relaxation techniques.

  • Sleep health isn’t just important in adulthood it is important throughout the lifetime. We can help you sleep better across the lifespan, from infants to older adults.

We work with sleep issues from nightmares and bedtime resistance to helping you get used to your CPAP machine for more effective sleep apnea treatment.

  • There are new treatments to treat sleep disorders coming out all the time. First, if CBT-I hasn’t worked in the past, we ask you to discuss this with your therapist, as they may be able to help you identify what went wrong. Our team have advanced training in experience in behavioral sleep medicine and often successfully treat those who have not been successful with CBT-I in the past.

If this therapy really isn’t for you, it isn’t the only tool in our box, and we have other ways to help improve the quality of your sleep.

There are some situations that make CBT-I difficult to use, such as if you have a medical or psychiatric condition that is made worse by sleeplessness. Or if your job includes shift work. If this is the case, we have other options for better sleep treatment.

  • There are some health conditions that can interfere with the effectiveness of sleep treatment, and this is health information that we need to know. Sometimes we combine sleep disorder treatments, both therapeutic and medical, to make the most effective impact.

Some of these conditions might be sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, rapid eye movement, and sleep-wake cycle disorders. Certain women's health issues might also need to be evaluated.

If you are showing risk factors for any of these conditions, we will refer you to your healthcare provider for a physical exam either at the time of your consultation or when your therapist begins to identify these symptoms.
