Hi, I’m Dr. Jessica Meers.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Expert in Insomnia and Sleep Health

If you’re tired of being tired, you’re not alone.

I specialize in evidence-based treatment for insomnia and sleep disorders so you can fall asleep more easily, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling like yourself again.

Now helping adults, teens, and children in Houston, Texas (and across 42 telehealth states) finally sleep through the night.

I didn’t choose sleep medicine randomly.

During my doctoral training at the University of Houston, I became deeply interested in how sleep affects emotional health, especially for women.

My dissertation examined the interaction between sleep and emotion across the menstrual cycle. What I discovered was powerful: when sleep is disrupted, everything feels harder, mood, focus, patience, and general resilience. This is especially true for women.

Later, during my fellowship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and my faculty role at Baylor College of Medicine, I worked with individuals whose insomnia was impacting their physical health, mental health, and relationships.
And then I became a mom.

In a deeper way than ever, sleep stopped being theoretical. I experienced firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when rest is fractured. That lived understanding deepened my empathy, but my clinical training gave me the roadmap.

Here’s what it’s like to work with me

Working together is collaborative and structured.

You won’t just “talk about your sleep.”

You’ll follow a clear, evidence-based process called Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). This is the gold-standard treatment recommended as first-line care.

Clients often tell me:

“This is the first thing that actually worked.”

“I wish I had done this sooner.”

“I finally feel in control of my sleep.”

You’ll leave sessions knowing exactly what to implement and why it works.

Most people begin noticing improvements within weeks.
